What we'd actually buy

We would not pack a towel, and neither has anyone else: across all 19 tracked season and spinoff files, not one recorded ten item list includes one. The catalog's quick dry example product has no contestant attached, which leaves this category with the emptiest record of any item that is not outright impractical.

Fire and wool do the job. A contestant with a fire going and clothing chosen for the climate dries out nightly without dedicating a slot to it, and the real moisture problems on this show, a soaked sleeping bag, wet boots in freezing weather, are failures a towel cannot fix. Meanwhile soap, the towel's only hygiene bracket neighbor with actual carriers, shows what a personal care item needs to justify itself: wound care and cookware duty, jobs with survival value attached.

For a real world pack with no ten item cap, a palm sized microfiber cloth is a fine thing to own. For an Alone style loadout, this is a slot you convert into snare wire, hooks, or cordage without a second thought, and the show's entire carry record agrees.
